Being tracked or harassed is not a sign of care or adoration. Stalking is often a part of a larger pattern of behavior that manipulates a survivor and threatens their sense of safety.

On behalf of La Casa de las Madres' Board of Directors, we are delighted to announce Lusero Arias as La Casa's new Executive Director. 

Last night 14 women and 16 children spent the night in La Casa's confidentially located emergency safehouse. Why? Risk of serious injury and death skyrockets 75% when victims are considering or taking steps to separate from abusive partners. Two-plus years of pandemic strain has also further limited vulnerable survivors' alternatives, like turning to friends and family.

Access points are critical to serving the geographically and culturally diverse communities of San Francisco. La Casa co-locates trained counselors to build bridges to safety and support.
