Winter Holiday Gifting - Supporting Domestic Violence Survivors Across Our Community
We are gearing up for La Casa's 2023 Holiday Gifting Program. Would you, your workplace, or community group like to help?
Together, we can keep spirits bright and provide a meaningful holiday experience for all the survivors La Casa supports through the holiday season.
There are three ways to make a BIG difference:
1.
Raise funds to Sponsor Safety this holiday season!
La Casa provides nonstop access to safety and empowering support services around the clock.
Help us fund the work we do every day to make a critical difference in the lives of women, teens, and children surviving abuse across the holiday season! It’s easy:
Set a fundraising goal
Reach out to donations@lacasa.org for a unique fundraising page link
Share your page among friends and colleagues!
2.
Host a holiday item drive
We have a wishlist of items we’d like to provide the survivors we support for the holidays. Examples span umbrellas, pampering items, and warm fuzzy socks. Can you host a drive to collect these items and then deliver them to La Casa by December 12th?
Reach out to donations@lacasa.org to coordinate the quantity and specific gift items you will collect!
3.
BUILD Holiday Gift Boxes & Adopt A Family
Help us sprinkle fairy dust on our highest need clients with special holiday gift packages.
You can help us build Holiday Gift Boxes by donating self-care items or spend time shopping for personalized Wishlists and wrapping gifts to support families accessing our services in December.
Each survivor you support will cost approximately $75.
The winter holidays can be a complicated time, practically and emotionally, for survivors of domestic violence. In La Casa's emergency shelter and through our community-based programs, we'll help more than 300 survivors and families establish new traditions, stay grounded in the hard work they are doing to stay safe, and feel the spirit of the holidays. Nearly all (98%) of our clients are struggling to make ends meet, and the extra expenses and demands of the winter holidays can feel overwhelming, especially when layered atop the trauma of abuse.
By participating in our Holiday Giving Program, you help provide the critical 24-hour safety net survivors across the Bay Area rely on, whether it's a holiday or not. Your holiday gifting also helps us sprinkle some fairy dust on our clients – make the holidays brighter, easier, and full to the brim with community, generosity, and joy. With your help, we know that this year will be extra special.
