Volunteering Opportunities for Groups

Groups wishing to lend their time, energy, and helping hands can support La Casa de las Madres’ mission and programs in a number of ways.  Special events and one-time projects can engage groups for just a few hours or a day.

Beading Project: Building a Healthy Future

Our most popular group volunteering project supports La Casa’s Teen Program.  Year round, families, clubs, and businesses come together to participate in this social and creative project at our Drop In Center.  Volunteers bead beautiful purple bracelets that carry a powerful message for our Girls Got Each Other’s Backs teen dating violence awareness campaign.  Help to bead some of the thousands of bracelets that we distribute each year to teens throughout San Francisco!

Group Projects

La Casa also relies upon volunteer support to conduct outreach and help us keep our confidential shelter and Drop In Center tidy, organized, and well maintained.  Group volunteer opportunities can vary depending on the season and availability.  Past projects have included an overhaul of our clothing closet, painting and gardening projects, and spring cleaning of La Casa’s shelter.

Please for more information, questions, or to share your group’s ideas for involvement!

Other Group Giving Opportunitiies

Can’t carve out volunteer time to give to La Casa?  Organize an event, donation drive, or item drive with your friends, coworkers, or community group.  Also, group giving opportunities through our Adopt A Room and Adopt A Family programs enable participants to help on their own time by gathering and donating goods to benefit the women, teens, and children we serve.

Each year, more than 2,500 women, teens, and families pass through our doors.  Your support will make a difference!
