Each holiday season, La Casa’s Drop In Center transforms into an amazing workshop of toys and goodies. The generosity of our community brings together gifts, personal care items, clothing and so much more to fulfill the wish lists of the women, teens and children we serve.
The families who receive their wishes and needs are enormously grateful:

 How does it work?
Adopt A Family.  Adopt one of La Casa’s clients – women and teens, both with and without children!  Around November 16th 2012, you will receive a ‘wish list’ of items they will cherish this holiday season, and have 3 weeks to shop. We ask sponsors (that’s you!) to buy 2 gifts per adult, 1 household gift for the whole family to enjoy, and 3 gifts per child.
Host A Drive. We can provide you with a list of general items our clients and/or programs need, items specific to a group of our clients, or one item we need buckets of! For instance, we can use at least 250 new writing journals, hat, glove, & scarf sets, umbrellas and reusable canvas tote bags.
Wrap and deliver. Purchase wrapping supplies and bring them along with your gifts, or wrap and label them for each woman or child you’ve adopted. Gifts are delivered to La Casa’s Drop In Center by December 7th, 2012.

Individuals, families, community groups, and corporate teams can join together and ‘adopt a family’ for the holidays. Participating community members are able to bring great joy to what can be a difficult time for domestic violence survivors, uprooted and struggling to build self-sufficient, thriving lives. La Casa’s Adopt A Family Program assists families during the holiday season, who may be transitioning out of shelter into their own housing for the holidays, or who are struggling to make ends meet while building a stable, violence-free life.
