Volunteering Opportunities for Individuals

La Casa de las Madres depends on true blue volunteers to keep all of our programs running seamlessly.  If you have time and energy to give, can make a commitment to provide consistency for the women and children we serve, and want to join a movement for real social change, please contact our Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator at or415-503-0500 to find out if volunteering at La Casa is right for you.

Between La Casa’s ten community programs, there are many ways to give your time.  Our volunteers serve in the following capacities:

  • Crisis line counseling
  • Children’s programming & childcare
  • Community outreach & education
  • Court accompaniment
  • Fund development
  • Implementing women’s activity groups
  • Translation
  • Administrative assistance
  • Board of Directors
  • Special projects
  • Special events

Some professionals may choose to donate their expertise to La Casa.  Examples include graphic design, marketing, computer assistance, and limited scope legal representation.  If you have particular skills in other areas that you think could benefit La Casa, let’s talk about it!

For individuals who would like to work directly with the women, teens, and children we serve and are ready to commit to at least one year of volunteering, we require completion of our comprehensive domestic violence counselor training.  Please click here to learn about and apply for this training to become a direct service volunteer.

For individuals interested in administrative volunteering, the domestic violence counselor training is not required and we accept applications year-round.  Administrative volunteering is only available during our business hours, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm.  To apply for these volunteering opportunities, please select and complete the appropriate application:
